If You Qualify For a VA Loan, Why Don’t You Have One?

With hundreds of thousands of active and retired military servicemen and servicewomen in the United States, there are hundreds of thousands of opportunities for them to buy a home with no money down.  So why are so many active servicemembers and veterans opting for different loans like FHA or Conventional that don’t give them the advantages they’ve earned?  If you qualify for a VA Loan, why don’t you have one?

It’s Too Hard

We hear this one a lot.  Veterans are told that the application process is too difficult or time-consuming and that they are better off with an FHA or Conventional Mortgage.  That’s just not true.  The VA Loan application process is no more difficult than any mortgage application.  You just need to get your VA Loan Certificate of Eligibility, which we help you obtain by assisting with filling out the form.

If a lender has pushed you to a loan product other than VA, and you are qualified for a VA Loan, they have done you a disservice.  Many lenders or mortgage brokers don’t have the ability or clearance to close VA Loans, and will try to get you to use something that they are authorized for.  The Hero Loan program is designed to get veterans and active service members in their homes quickly and efficiently.

It Takes Too Long

This is another fallacy.  Many mortgage brokers and lenders aren’t delegated to offer VA Loans and have to send them out to get them underwritten by the investor, which can take forever.  When you have your VA delegation like the Hero Loan, we underwrite your VA Loan ourselves and can get you closed in as little as 14 days.

I Already Have a Good Rate

Do you have an FHA or Conventional Loan with PMI and qualify for VA Loans? WHY?  You are paying too much for your mortgage and you don’t have to.  The VA Loan program is a 0 down, 100% financing loan with no PMI.  It’s the perfect mortgage.  All you have to do is qualify by meeting any of the criteria below:

  • You have served 90 consecutive days of active service during wartime
  • You have served 181 days of active service during peacetime
  • You have more than 6 years of service in the National Guard or Reserves
  • You are the spouse of a service member who has died in the line of duty or as a result of a service-related disability.

If you do, you can get out from PMI right now.  You have earned this loan program.  Don’t let a banker or mortgage broker too lazy to do their job properly tell you that you can’t have it or don’t need it.
